It's with a heavy heart that I have decided to sell Mandalay. 25yrs ago I had never heard of Mevagissey but I fell in love with it the first time I set foot in the place.
Being so close to the harbour and beaches it’s like I have had a permanent holiday.
Both my children came here as babies and grew up and had their first experience of ` working` in this environment.
Cooking breakfast each morning throughout summer does mean an early start but I have had a regime of inside in the morning and outside in the afternoon mixed with meeting and greeting guests. First impressions are most important for them and me! After all these years lots of them are old friends, albeit paying friends!!I shall miss them.
If someone wants a happy lifestyle in a lovely village then they will get just that!
I am now at a stage in my life where I really am looking to retire and put my feet up. I have earned a nice living from 7 out of the 9 rooms from just March to September with a holiday in the middle. A lot more could be earned by someone with more energy than me by opening longer during the year, offering perhaps evening meals, running the bar and I have been told on many occasions that my prices are incredibly reasonable. Mandalay is also set in nearly half an acre of land so there is possible room for expansion.
I hope the new owner has as many happy years as I have had and I hope they enjoy the greenhouse as I shall miss that the most!
