THE ESTAS determines the best estate & letting agents in the country through research carried out amongst customers who are asked a series of questions about the service they have received from their agent.
The 2015 competition saw over 25,000 surveys completed by agent’s customers making it the biggest award in the industry. At the 5 star Hilton hotel on Park Lane in central London, celeb property guru Phil Spencer presented Peter Ellicock and William Tyas directors of Hus Estate Agents with the coveted industry Gold ESTAS award for the South West (West region) making them the highest ranked estate agent in the region for 2015, and also the highest ranked estate agent in Cornwall for the second year running.

Phil Spencer, who has hosted the ESTAS every year since their inception in 2003 said “The ESTAS are about making people happy, putting a smile on their face and making a genuine difference to peoples’ lives. An agent’s role is about guiding people through one of the most stressful times in their lives and that’s not an easy job. The ESTAS help agencies to focus on customer service levels and that’s why firms keep coming back year after year”.

Simon Brown who owns the ESTAS also addressed the audience “The ESTAS are special because shortlisted and winning firms are selected purely on the service they deliver to their clients. In fact just taking part shows an agent’s commitment to their customers and to be shortlisted is a great achievement in itself. For the winners this is the highest accolade they can receive in the industry.”

    After a brisk swim in Truro pool, William Tyas is ready to tackle the working day. His wide experience as an unflappable estate agent and a qualified mortgage broker stands him in good stead. He had worked in the property finance industry for many years before teaming up Peter Ellicock to plan and design their own agency.

    Will has a Masters degree, coached football in California, plays squash for the county team and is a former Truro Squash Club champion.

    Peter has twenty three years industry experience from banking, probate, mortgages and estate agency giving him a vast knowledge base. He has 4 great children and loves playing racketball.

  • Bex



    Bex has 30 years in conveyancing allowing her to smoothly guide our clients through the intricacies of the sales process. Her driven approach to problem solving always ensures the best outcome for our clients.

    Bex has lived in Cornwall her whole life and enjoys nothing more than coastal walks with her loyal pooch.

  • Debbie


    Debbie brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the HUS team with 16 years working in the property market, both in Devon and Cornwall. She is also a fully qualified estate agent.

    Having grown up on Dartmoor, Debbie moved to Cornwall 5 years ago and now enjoys living on the North Coast with her fiancé and two dogs. She loves being in the water and is currently learning to surf. Debbie is also a member of the RAOST theatre group choir and enjoys singing and music.
